What a busy week it has been. It was was my daughter’s 20th birthday on Sunday ‘Happy Birthday Melissa’. We all went for a birthday lunch at the Royal Spice in Burgess Hill. What a lovely meal it was too. They even brought a complimentary cake and candles out at the end of the meal. We all ate far too much but a big Thanks and recommend to everyone at Royal Spice.
I was a little worried about Monday as I had Andy (who I had met at the Lingfield Art Exhibition) coming over for a printmaking workshop and I hadn’t done one before. Well it was great fun. We did spend quite a lot of the time talking but it was mostly about art and printing. Andy produced the tiniest lino print of a penguin but it was great. I’m about to do my first workshop with 6 people on the 24th Oct…..so watch this space….
I spent Tuesday sorting out artwork to be submitted for showing at the Weald of Sussex Art Club Exhibition later this month.
I also booked the chimney sweep, not before time! Feeling a little annoyed as I can’t shake off this cold and it’s really getting on my nerves now. I also finished a couple of prints, which were long over due.

On Wednesday I drove over to The Billingshurst Creative (in Billingshurst) to collect the shop keys and meet Jane Faulkner, who was on duty. Jane makes fantastic silver jewellery by the way. She also holds jewellery making workshops. The shop still has a few space left. So if any of you creative people are looking for somewhere to sell you work please contact email@example.com
On my way home from Billingshurst I called into Vanilla of Hurstpierpoint who have placed an order for some of my cards which I am very pleased about. Once I have delivered these I will have cards for sale in Steyning, Henfield, Hassocks and Hurstpierpoint. That is Steyning Book Shop, Stokes of Henfield, Orion News in Hassocks and of course Vanilla in Hurst. Oh and I almost forgot the Chalk Gallery in Lewes and Billingshurst Creative in Billingshurst.
Today i’ve been on duty in the Chalk Gallery, Lewes. I have had a lovely day and met lots of interesting people. This makes me a little sad about leaving the gallery at the end of the month. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be the right place for selling my artwork. It is, however, a fantastic little gallery and well worth a visit. It’s in North Street, Lewes BN7 2PA It’s been a real learning curve since joining, just over a year ago. This is what the inside of the gallery looked like today
As you can see it was a lovely sunny day and in between meeting and greeting people I managed to make some cards for my Hurstpierpoint customer. Will be busy making more of these tomorrow. I’m looking forward to tomorrow evening as we are goin to the Dome to see The Brighton Comedy Festival Opening Night Gala. We really enjoyed it last year and it was hosted by Jo Brand. I’ve just read that it’s Alan Carr this year. The Gala is in aid of The Sussex Beacon, which is a care centre for men and women with HIV/AIDS related illnesses. http://www.sussexbeacon.org.uk/
