Garden Birds

I have noticed so many different birds in my garden recently that I have decided to do a Garden Bird Series of Lino Prints.  A few weeks ago there was a great spotted woodpecker on the bird table and then only last week a beautiful kingfisher.  In recent weeks I have seen crows, magpies, seagulls, robins, thrushes, blackbirds, blue tits, great tits, collared doves and a jay.  Here are the first two prints….

Looking at these prints I can’t help but feel that I have been greatly influenced by Alfred Hitchcock’s film, The Birds made in 1963.   I watched this film, for the first time, late one evening a couple of weeks ago.  Hitchcock was famously obsessed with his leading lady, Tippi Hedren.  The Birds was loosely based on a book written by Daphne du Maurier in the early 1950s.  I found the film really entertaining 🙂
